Volunteer Eligibility

1. Do you have at least 5 years of professional working or entrepreneurial experience in Canada?

Yes

Unfortunately, you don’t qualify to become a volunteer with Rise. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of professional working or entrepreneurial experience in Canada. If you feel you have a skill set that will benefit our clients and would like to talk to us, please email mentor@risehelps.ca.

2. Are you passionate about/interested in working with entrepreneurs who experience mental health or addiction challenges?

Yes

Unfortunately, you don’t qualify to become a volunteer with Rise. All Rise clients self-identify as individuals with mental health and/or addiction challenges. It’s essential that Rise volunteers share our vision to strengthen communities by unleashing the entrepreneurial spirit of all Canadians with mental health and addiction challenges.

3. Do you have relevant skills and professional experience to advise on at least one area critical to building a small business (e.g., accounting, marketing, sales, business operations, e-commerce, legal, etc.)?

Yes

Unfortunately, you don’t qualify to become a volunteer with Rise. We commit to matching our clients with volunteers who can share their extensive experience and business knowledge. Rise volunteers must be skilled in a critical area for building a small business.

4. Can you commit a minimum of four (4) hours monthly to volunteering with Rise?

Yes

Unfortunately, you don’t qualify to become a volunteer with Rise. We have many volunteer opportunities at Rise, with varying time commitments, but we require all Rise volunteers to commit a minimum of 4 hours per month to their role.
