RISE PROGRAM NAVIGATOR

1. All Rise clients must self-identify as individuals who:

Have experienced mental health and/or addiction challenges
Are a Citizen or a Permanent Resident of Canada
Would have difficulty acquiring a loan from a mainstream financing organization (e.g., banks such as BMO, CIBC, RBC, Scotia, or TD)

Do you meet all three of these requirements?

Yes

To be considered for the Rise Small Business Lending Program or a Rise Entrepreneurship Training Program, you must self-identify as an individual who has experienced mental health and/or addiction challenges; you must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada; and you must be unable to access traditional bank financing for your small business.

2. What kind of entrepreneurship support are you interested in?

I want a low-interest loan, one-on-one mentorship and other supports with the Small Business Lending Program

I want to participate in a free Entrepreneurship Training Program

3. Do you have an existing business (i.e., making sales) or a well-developed business idea?

Yes

4. Are you in a position to commit the time and energy to develop and/or strengthen your business plan and to complete a robust loan application package with the support of a Business Advisor? (On average, this process takes 4-6 weeks.)

5. Are you in active bankruptcy or behind on child support payments or government taxes with no payment plan in place?

Yes

To be considered for the Rise Small Business Lending Program, candidates cannot be in active bankruptcy, behind on child support payments or government taxes with no payment plan in place. In the meantime, a Rise Entrepreneurship Training Program may be a better fit for you. Continue to Question 6 to find out which may be right for you.
