Tassan Sung

As a veteran of the financial services industry, Tassan’s professional career began in 1993 with a focus on protecting the wealth and legacy of high net-worth families, as well as working for over a decade in the role of BC District Vice President at RBC Global Asset Management.  A former Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Investment Manager, Tassan’s expertise included implementing advanced investment and financial planning strategies as well as educating industry members regarding financial instruments. Tassan Currently chairs Nicola Wealth Management’s Women’s LEAD, a grassroots movement to amplify and celebrate the voices of women across the country through a speaker series, articles, videos, and community collaboration.

Keenly interested in behavioral science, Tassan has a BA in Psychology from the University of British Columbia and was selected as part of a small cohort to Harvard University’s inaugural online Master’s in Education Leadership. Tassan’s focus remains on strengthening her knowledge and expertise around supporting marginalized and disenfranchised populations and establishing platforms for growth and development.

Tassan moved from the financial industry to non-profit work in 2011, focusing her efforts on supporting vulnerable communities. Her many philanthropic endeavors span the past almost 30 years and include work with the BC Cancer Foundation, Covenant House, Arts Umbrella, Union Gospel Mission, and The Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation where she is Vice-Chair (incoming chair) of the Board and Co-Chair of their largest annual fundraiser, the Life Commitment Gala. Tassan is passionate about supporting those living and struggling with mental health, addiction, stigmatization, HIV/AIDS, and homelessness.

Tassan, her husband David, and their two school-age children have lived, worked, and studied in Vancouver for many years. As a family, they are focused on fostering a thriving and vibrant community that provides opportunity for all and promotes acceptance and inclusivity.
